The Langkawi UNESCO Global Geopark is one of the international geopark that covers almost the entire island of Langkawi, Kedah and is the 52nd UNESCO Global geopark in the world and the first in Southeast Asia. 02 Ayer Hangat Village
Ayer Hangat Village (Kampung Air Hangat) has a 4 acres of land about 18 km from the airport. There is a 3 tiers hot-spring and an 18 meter mural featuring the legend of the village. Black Sand Beach, is situated 6 km away from Tanjung Rhu. The beach is formed by the combination of several minerals, such as tourmaline, ilmenite, zircon and with granite rocks making it black in color. Crocodile Adventureland is one of the main tourist attractions on this legendary island. 11 Pasir Tengkorak Beach (Skull Beach)
Pasir Tengkorak, is situated at the North of the island next to Teluk Datai. It is less well known to tourists because of its remote location, but in fact this small beach is very beautiful with crystal clear water and fine white sand. It is surrounded by lush greenery and is ideal for swimming. At the end of the beach, there are also interesting rock formations. Remember to bring your own water & food as there is no restaurant along the beach, just merely some stalls selling fruits.
12 Air Terjun Telaga Tujuh (Seven Wells Waterfall)
Seven Wells Waterfall, at the Northwest of the island about 14 km from the airport. This waterfall is named after the seven natural pools along its path. Legend has it that the fairies used to go down to bathe and frolic in the pools. Telaga Tujuh boasts 2 viewing areas. The lower area is at the waterfall base and there are the 7 pools in the upper area.
You can bathe in the pools and even slide down the slick rock between them. You have to climb 638 steps (which takes about 45 min) to get to the 7 pools which can get very slippery when it’s wet. There is also a jungle trekking course available at the site that will take you up to 2 mountains, along a path of about 2,500 m.

15 Langkawi Cable Car & Skybridge
Langkawi Cable Car & Skybridge, is is one of the major attractions on the island. The cable car provides an aerial link from to the top of Gunung Matchinchang and walk across the 660-m high Sky Bridge for a stunning view of islands & islets of Thailand and Langkawi. The overall length of this cable car is about 2.2 km (1.4 mi), with a travel time of about 15 minutes from base to top. It doesn’t operate in poor weather & slso doesn’t run during the regular maintenance days, so please check before you go.
Langkawi Sky Bridge is a 125-metre (410 ft) length curved shape pedestrian cable-stayed bridge where the bridge deck is located 660 metres (2,170 ft) above sea level at the peak of Gunung Matchinchang. At the top of the mountain there are two circular viewing platforms which are both a short walk up the stairs from the top station and provide 360 ° views. The top station is 708 m above sea level and temperature is about 5 °C cooler than the lowlands.

21 Makam Mahsuri (Mahsuri’s Tomb)
Mahsuri’s Tomb, is the grave of the legendary Mahsuri binti Pandak Mayah. According to the legend, Mahsuri was a Langkawi Island-born girl who has been accused and murdered for allegedly dating a poet named Deramang when her husband Wan Derus left Langkawi to fight against the Siamese army. Mahsuri’s blood was said to be white as evidence that she was innocent and defamed. Before she was killed, she swore that Langkawi Island would not be fertile and peaceful until the seventh descendants.
22 Thean Hou Temple
Thean Hou Temple, built with donations and sponsorship funds, the RM8 million temple exhibits classic architectural designs such as those seen at heritage temples in China and Taiwan. This is one of the biggest temples for the Mazu (Sea Goddess) in Southeast Asia. The impressive roof with vivid phoenix and dragon sculptures can be seen from far & you can find almost any kind of Buddhist statue in this temple. Pulau Dayang Bunting, the 2nd largest island at the South of Langkawi. It is approximately 18 km or about 15 minutes by boat from the Kuah jetty, Langkawi. Langsuir Cave is located in the middle of the journey to Dayang Bunting Lake, it is the result of erosion of ocean waves for millions of years.
