BEST TIME TO VISIT PATTAYA
About Pattaya
Pattaya, in the province of Chonburi is one of the popular destination for both Thais and foreigners because the city offers everything tourists need. The city is about 150km (by car) away from Bangkok city center. Please refer to map below. If your first stop to Thailand is Hua Hin, there is also a ferry service from Hua Hin to Pattaya, which takes about an hour journey.
There are so many different kinds of places for you to stay in Pattaya such as big hotels, resorts, guest houses, condominiums and apartments. Most of these places are right next to the Beach.
There are also many things to do in Pattaya such as water sports, sunbathing, bungee jump, Thai boxing, horse riding, golfing, diving and many more. As for me, drinking beer & bar hopping are my favorite choice. LOL.
Best Time To Visit Pattaya By Month
November to February (Dry)
Generally, the weather of Pattaya is quite similar to Bangkok within this period. Temperatures range between 23°C to 32°C with dry & sunny weather. As I mentioned before, this period could be the best time to visit Pattaya because of less rainfall and you can enjoy your sunbathing on the beach. But again, this is also a super peak season in Pattaya. Therefore, you will have to pay seasonal high prices for everything.
March to May (Hot)
This period is the hottest time in Pattaya but the average high temperature is slightly lower than in Bangkok with temperature range between 25°C to 33°C. Similar to Bangkok, this is the best time for outdoor activities especially for sunbathing. Remember to apply sunblock to avoid sunburn. Usually, tourists start to reduce from March onward and this could lead to some competitive prices on hotels & restaurants. The hotels rate could increase again 1 week before & after the Songkran Festival (Thailand New Year) during 13th. to 15th. April and the rest of the time, this will be the best time to visit Pattaya based on my past experience.
June to October (Rainy)
This is considered the rainy season of Pattaya with temperatures range between 25°C to 29°C. The wettest months of Pattaya where sometimes floods will happen during the month of September. Even though this is a super low season in Pattaya where you could enjoy super cheap hotels, foods or even flight tickets, but it is not advisable to visit Pattaya during this period due to the frequent rainfall. Unless, you are not a beach lover, this period is also a good time for bar hopping as there is less tourists.
