There are innumerable options of nightlife in Koh Samui ranging from the loud and brash tourist pubs and girlie bars of Chaweng to the candle-lit romantic bars of Bophut, pool bars, cabaret shows, night market & many more. 02 Galaxy Cabaret

Galaxy Cabaret, is a Russian club just a few hundred meters away from Starz Cabaret. The club is 2-storey. On the ground floor there is a main hall with 50-70 seats. The main stage is in the corner, from which 3 narrow podiums radially diverge. 2- this is the bar, 3rd, central, ends with an additional round stage with a pylon. Seating for guests is located on 3 levels.

03 ARKbar Beach Resort

ARKbar Beach Resort, just within 1 km from Chaweng beach is known around the world as the one-stop party destination in the heart of Chaweng Beach. 05 Reggae Pub

Reggae Pub, which is just about 2 km from Chaweng beach is one of the top nightclub in Koh Samui. Probably this is oldest and most famous club on the island as it was first opened in 1988. The nightclub features an original design such as an unfinished two story structure with just three walls and partly enclosed. The central main dance floor is surrounded by tables and benches where you can enjoy drinks and listen to live bands or DJs playing music.

Chaweng Night Market, is just within 1.5 km from Chaweng beach & next to the Chaweng Lake. The market is indeed a large food court packed with plenty of food stalls offering a great selection of dining options including a full menu of delicious Thai dishes, as well as European and foreign choices and even a few small bars. Every food stall is a family business and many of them sell well displayed fresh seafood and fish in ice beds. You will definitely enjoy the gourmet food here.

08 Woobar (W Koh Samui)

Woobar, is a luxurious lounge but with affordable cocktails and a kind of VIP treatment. It is located near Mae Nam beach which is about 11 km from Chaweng beach. Samui Rock Bar, an extremely unique bar near Hin Ta and Hin Yai (Grandfather’s Grandmother’s Rocks) Lamai beach, which is about 14 km from Chaweng beach. This is a great restaurant and bar of amazing set-up with good foods, cocktails, live music & picturesque sea-view. Highly recommend this place for their good meal (both Thai and international food) at very reasonable prices and beautiful view of the sunset.

Ocean Club at Beach Republic, is a modern & luxurious beachfront resort near Lamai Beach. The atmosphere here is certainly great and the Republic regularly hosts events with foreign DJs, and has movie nights as well. Beachside lounging doesn’t come any better than this with a strong wine list, excellent cocktails and ‘mocktails’ besides a trendy, urban feel to the venue.

18 Full Moon Party – Koh Pha Ngan

Full Moon Party is the world famous event which takes place every full moon months in Hat Rin (Haad Rin) on Koh Pha Ngan. The party continues until the next day, when the sun rises. Hat Rin’s bars on Sunrise Beach remain open and play music including psychedelic trance, R&B, drum and bass, techno, dance, and reggae. The modern event has become a part of many travelers’ itinerary to Southeast Asia. 19 Half Moon Festival – Koh Pha Ngan

Half Moon Festival, is a smaller event & it is held in its own venue in a forest north of the Ban Tai village, between Thong Sala and Haad Rin. The Half Moon Festival is an outdoor dance music (rave party) event held on Koh Pha Ngan on the half moon, a week before, and a week after the full moon. The promoters mainly hire local DJs using CD decks instead of vinyl. Various guest DJs are performing unannounced sets but they don’t book big name stars for the game.

20 Black Moon Culture Party – Koh Pha Ngan

Black Moon Culture party also happens once a month at night when there is moon, it is about 2 weeks after the Full Moon Festival. The techno & trance music party takes place on the much smaller Baan Tai beachfront to caters those hippy & psychedelic rock crowd. At a modern day Black Moon Party, you could possibly expect up to 1000 people, they get bigger in scale, but they’re still some way behind the other moon-themed parties on Koh Pha Ngan.
